At the start of the summer semester 2023, the Kölner Studierendenwerk, the City of Cologne and the International Offices once again invited the new foreign students and visiting academics to the Town Hall Reception in the Historic Town Hall of the City of Cologne.

Before the reception, the newcomers got the chance to get to know Cologne with a guided city tour in German or English.

After the tours, the evening continued at 5 p.m. with the formal welcome. The musical opening was performed by the choir of the TH Cologne, followed by welcomes by Mayor Andreas Wolter, Prof. Dr. Bettina Rockenbach, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at the University of Cologne and Dr. Klaus Wilsberg for the Studierendenwerk Köln.

At the following part, the around 200 international guests could inform themselves about studying in Cologne and their country-specific university groups at the set up booths and were provided with delicious food and drinks by the catering of the Kölner Studierendenwerk.
